Atomic Swaps

Cross-Chain Decentralized Exchange (DEX)

โš ๏ธ In Development

What are Atomic Swaps?

Atomic Swaps are trustless, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency exchanges that allow you to trade QBM for other cryptocurrencies (like BTC, XMR, LTC) without intermediaries, centralized exchanges, or escrow services.

Using Hash Time-Locked Contracts (HTLCs), atomic swaps ensure that either both parties receive their coins, or the transaction fails entirelyโ€”eliminating counterparty risk.

๐Ÿš€ Key Features

๐Ÿ”’

Trustless Trading

Smart contracts enforce trade execution automatically. No need to trust the counterparty or a third-party escrow.
๐ŸŒ

Cross-Chain

Swap QBM directly with Bitcoin, Monero, Litecoin, and other major cryptocurrencies without wrapped tokens.
โšก

Low Fees

Only on-chain transaction feesโ€”no exchange fees, no trading fees, no hidden costs. Pure peer-to-peer trading.
๐Ÿ”

Privacy Preserved

QBM's built-in privacy features remain intact during swaps. No identity verification or tracking required.
๐Ÿ“Š

Order Book

Browse available swap offers, create your own, and match with other traders in a decentralized marketplace.
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Refund Protection

Time-locked refunds ensure your funds are returned automatically if a swap fails or expires.

๐Ÿ”ง How Atomic Swaps Work

Atomic swaps use Hash Time-Locked Contracts (HTLCs) to create conditional payments on two blockchains:

  1. Initiation: Alice locks 10 QBM in a contract with a secret hash
  2. Participation: Bob locks 0.001 BTC in a contract with the same hash
  3. Redemption: Alice reveals the secret to claim Bob's BTC
  4. Completion: Bob uses the revealed secret to claim Alice's QBM
  5. Refund Safety: If either party fails to act, funds auto-refund after timeout

This cryptographic protocol ensures atomicityโ€”either both trades complete successfully, or both are cancelled with no loss of funds.

๐Ÿ’ฑ Planned Trading Pairs

Note: Each blockchain must support HTLC functionality for atomic swaps to work.
